EXCITING NEWS - ALL PLAYERS WILL RECEIVE A NEW UNIFORM AND BACKPACK THIS YEAR! THANKS TO ALL YOUR FUNDRAISING EFFORTS, EGBA WILL COVER THE COSTS OF UNIFORMS AND BACKPACKS!!
Registration fees cover the costs of: uniforms, tournaments, practice space rent, insurance, equipment, supplies, practice jersey, shooting shirts, and banquet meal for player.
Uniforms: We are in a NEW uniform cycle year! All participants will need to order a full uniform. The new uniforms are the same brand as the previous uniforms, so sizing will be consistent. We will use these uniforms for 3-years, so plan accordingly and error on the side of ordering a larger size to account for future growth.
Practices: Each team will practice two times per week at area elementary or middle schools. We are working to obtain practice space.
Tournaments: Our 5th-7th grade teams will participate in a mix of Great Northwest Basketball League (GNBL) and Minnesota Youth Athletic Services (MYAS) tournaments. The 3rd-4th grade teams will participate in the Arrowhead Youth Basketball League (AYBL). Majority of tournaments are 1-day format (3 games) and will be within 2 hours of Duluth (Northern MN/Northern WI/Twin Cities). All teams will play in the MYAS Grade State Tournament at the end of February (2-day tournament in the Twin Cities area).
Parent meeting: Meeting is mandatory and will be held October 30, 2024 at Ordean Middle School (Media Center). At the parent meeting, families will be required to submit their volunteer deposit check of $300 payable to EGBA, Inc. These checks will be held until the end of the season. See below for volunteer expectations.
Volunteers: A separate $300 volunteer deposit will be collected from each family. These deposits will be held until the end of the basketball season. Families that complete the 16 hours of volunteer service to EGBA will have their deposit checks destroyed. Volunteer deposit checks will be collected in person at the Parent Meeting. Volunteer opportunities include: HS games concession stand workers (various dates), Winter City Showdown youth tournament (Dec 7th), Pie Night (Jan 25th), AYBL game day (TBD – Jan/Feb)
